The Arnold Janssen Alternative Learning System (ALS) has officially renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the DSWD Region IV-A’s Bahay Tuluyan Home for Girls, located at DBB, Dasmariñas, Cavite. The renewed partnership, good for another three years, strengthens the shared commitment to support young girls—some as young as four years old—who are survivors of abuse, neglect, and human trafficking.

Currently, 31 girls are housed at Bahay Tuluyan. The collaboration with Arnold Janssen ALS provides them with education, life skills, and opportunities for personal growth and healing. A core component is the ALS education program, formerly handled by Ma’am Hanna, who is on medical leave. Sir Gene now serves as her substitute, continuing the delivery of ALS instruction with dedication and care.
Training in bread and pastry production is conducted by Ma’am Janet, while Sir Howell leads the basic computer literacy sessions.
A moving moment during the ceremony was the heartfelt performance of “A Million Dreams” by the children—sung with confidence and hope, reflecting their dreams and determination to rise above their wounded past.
The MOU signing was led by:
Fr. Randy Flores, SVD, Executive Director of Arnold Janssen ALS
Fr. Judy, SVD, AJ Program Coordinator
Ma’am Rhodora, Head Social Worker of Bahay Tuluyan
The event was also witnessed by the center’s social workers and staff, along with psychology students present for their academic exposure and immersion in child protection initiatives.
